CBD Dosages: How Much Should I Take?
CBD can be an effective remedy for many conditions such as pain, anxiety, and insomnia. Those who are interested in trying out CBD for the first time or are looking to adjust their current dosage may wonder, what is the proper dosage for me?
What is the proper dosage of CBD?
Here at Green Dr, we would suggest a standard dosage of 30mg of Full-Spectrum CBD. We find this dosage to be beneficial for the greatest variety of conditions, such as arthritis, anxiety (stress), and insomnia. However, it is important to note that everyone responds to CBD differently, and what works for one individual might be less effective for another.
What determines a dosage of CBD?
There are quite a few factors that go into deciding the right CBD dosage. These include relief needs, such as pain levels or a specific condition one is looking to treat; what type of CBD is used; and cannabinoid tolerance, which includes current CBD and THC use.
Reasons for relief:
Certain conditions might require a stronger dosage of CBD (e.g. 40mg, 80mg, 150mg), or even a blend of cannabinoids, like in our Trifecta Gummy, which uses 30mg CBD, 30mg CBG, and 20mg CBN to reduce discomfort and lower inflammation. This dosage is especially effective in treating pain caused by nerve-related and inflammatory diseases, like fibromyalgia and arthritis. Conditions such as cancer and epilepsy show improvements from higher dosages of CBD, ranging from 100-800mg of CBD.
The type of CBD:
Whether one is using full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or isolate CBD will influence how much CBD they should take to achieve maximum relief. Studies have shown that consumers taking isolate CBD will have to take a higher dosage than that of a broad-spectrum or full-spectrum CBD. One might use a dosage of 40mg CBD or more when using an isolate product.
Your tolerance:
Familiarity with CBD and THC is also going to play a large role in how their body responds to CBD. Individuals that frequently use CBD and/or THC products have a higher cannabinoid tolerance in which case they may look into increasing their dosage of CBD. Those who do not or have never used cannabis may want to start with 15mg of CBD, which would equate to 1/2 of our CBD Day Gummy.
What you eat:
CBD is best taken alongside food. Meals that are high in fat help to boost the absorption of CBD, so keep it in mind and enjoy CBD with a meal, or better yet, check out our CBD Infused Almonds for a nutrient-packed snack.
Is there such thing as too much CBD?
In general, there is no risk for overconsumption of CBD. However, we would always advise our customers to start small (30mg) and work their way up if they need a higher dosage, as to not unnecessarily use their products or heighten their tolerance too quickly.
